New Direction....

You know how sometimes you make a decision and it may not have been the best decision for you.  Or maybe it was the best decision for you at the time but now it is time to move forward?

Well, that is where I am at now.

A few short months ago I decided to open my Etsy store up again.  At the time, I thought that was going to be a great idea.  Well, I was wrong.  I still like to sew and I still like to make bows, but just not as much as I once did.  Plus, finding the time to actually sit down and sew or make bows is nearly impossible right now.  But my biggest reason for cutting my losses and just moving on is that my heart is just not in it anymore.

If you are a close friend or family member of mine, or if a close friend or family member directs you to me, I will of course be MORE than happy to make a bow, or 10, or sew a quick something or other for you.

I am going to keep The Creative Princess blog up and running.  As well as my FB fan page.  Why?  Well, I find blogging therapeutic.  Sure, I may not blog as often as I wish I could but when I do I love it.  Plus, I like to talk...a lot.

So what now?  Well, I am still a Coupon Coach with MoneySavingQueen.com and you can find me on that site almost every day.  I LOVE helping teach people how they can save money on groceries.  I can not tell you how much it warms my heart to hear someone that has been struggling to come back to me after a month of couponing excited because they can now pay their bills, or they can now be a stay at home mom, or they are now working part time rather than full time.  I LOVE helping other people.

The other thing.  I just signed up to be a designer with Willow House Designs.  So if you would like to have a design party just let me know.  Why did I sign up?  Well reason #1 was because my mom wanted me to because she loves their stuff but SHE didn't want to be a designer.  ;)  Reason #2, I need to get OUT OF MY HOUSE and actually have a conversation with another adult from time to time!  lol  Reason #3, I LOVE their products but refuse to pay full price for them!  Must be that Coupon Princess thing.  :)

Now, I am not going to totally close my Etsy store but just moving in a new direction with everything.  I will still do some totally AWESOME giveaway's from time to time on here.  And if I can EVER find some containers for my sugar scrubs I will get some out in time for Christmas!

Love you all!

Strawberries and Cream Instant Oatmeal | Recipe

I don't know about you but, we go through oatmeal like that is the only thing to eat on this planet!   Seriously a TON! My youngest would eat it for every meal and snack....every day....if I let her. Yes, the little packs can be cheap (if you can find a coupon and get them on sale) but it still adds up.  I used things I already had on hand so there was no extra cost to make this.  FREE is ALWAYS good!   I tried before to make little packets to keep on hand but that was a complete fail.  I have since reworked the recipe and am happy with the results.  I decided to just keep the oatmeal in a glass container this time and scoop out what we need, when we need it.  You can also make this into packets by just scooping the desired amount into zip-top bags. {Strawberries & Cream Instant Oatmeal}   12 Servings 6 Cups Quick Cook Oats 1 1/2 Cups Oat Powder 2 Cups Powdered Milk 1 - 1 1/2 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Freeze Dried Strawberries Directions f

Granny's Flitters

I love my family!  There are so many things I love about each person and also about all of us as a whole.  One of the things I love about my family is we love traditions. Today I am going to share just one of the many traditions we have.....FLITTERS! To me when I think of comfort food, I think of Flitters.  It was a special morning to wake up to the delicious smell of flitters frying in the morning.  It is one smell that every time I smell I am brought right back to childhood and great memories. I am not really sure where the name "flitters" came from or if someone just made it up.  I can tell you how it got started though! My Great, Great Uncle Orville's mom (Grandma Cook) baked bread.  On the days she would make extra bread dough she would invite all of her grandkids over for a flitter night.  She would make her bread and then the extra dough she would roll out, cut into strips and fry up for the kids to enjoy.  That tradition was then passed to my
