Mid-Week Menu Plan 11/27-12/3

I can't believe how fast this year has gone by! Thanksgiving is already here?!?! How is that possible? This week I am taking a break from my menu plan. With all of the family get togethers going on and all of the left-overs, I won't be cooking much this week. If you would still like some inspiration this week, check out the past menu plans ! I hope you all have a WONDERFUL week, if you are traveling to see family, or braving the craziness that is Black Friday, I hope you have safe travels and wish you the best. Happy Thanksgiving!

FROZEN Hot Chocolate

I am sure by now, most of you know that FROZEN the Movie is coming to theaters THIS WEEK (the 27th to be exact)! I am so excited!! My girls saw some of the FROZEN merchandise while we were at Walt Disney World and that is all they could talk about.....for days! It has been a rough school year for both of the girls so far. Mads is adjusting to being in the upper elementary, was dealing with a bully and gets super frustrated with math (even though she is really good at it). MG is adjusting to actually being in school, went through a time of having accidents at school and she just misses her mommy. To celebrate Mads good grades and MG going a month accident free, I decided to treat the girls with a few fun new toys and some hot chocolate. Once I heard that FROZEN merchandise was available at Walmart, I ran to stock up. While I was there, it hit me! I could have #Frozenfun with the hot chocolate and make FROZEN Hot chocolate! I just knew the girls would love it! I was k

Holiday Baking - Mamie's Rum Cake

I decided to start a new series, I will be sharing a few of my favorite holiday baking recipes with you over the next month. All are family recipes, passed down to me. I have been so very blessed over the years to have many, MANY, strong women placed in my life. One of the strongest ones was my Mamie. Before I share her amazing Rum Cake recipe with you, I want to share a bit about her and what made her so amazing to me. Let me start by saying, Mamie did not start out as my Mamie (i.e. pseudo-grandma). When I was a little kid, I knew her as Janie. She was my Granny's beautician. For years, once or twice a week, I would go with my granny to Janie's Beauty Shop and just sit and look at magazines. Sometimes I would rearrange her perm rollers or clean the bins out. She never minded I did any of that. Over the years Janie and my Granny became closer and closer, the best of friends. You would not see one without the other it seemed. When Granny passed away, Janie took us

Slow Cooker Cranberry-Orange Pork Loin

I came upon this recipe late one night while watching TV, obviously before the time change since I now go to bed at 7pm. My hubby and I LOVE to watch the show America's Test Kitchen. It comes on the local college station here. I know, totally weird. But, it's a great cooking show. This Pork Loin sounded so good I ran to the computer to look the recipe up, I had to try it. The results? Moist, delicious, perfectly cooked, Pork Loin. It tastes like Christmas, on a plate. I loved it so much that I ran out to get a second loin to prep this for a freezer meal. I was trying so hard to wait until Christmas Eve to make the second loin, but I couldn't. Slow Cooker Cranberry-Orange Pork Loin from America's Test Kitchen Ingredients 1 Pork Loin - 4.5-5 lbs Salt and Pepper 1 TBS Vegetable Oil 1 (14oz) Can Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce 1/2 Cup Craisins 1/2 Cup Orange Juice 3 Strip Orange Zest - about 3 inches long each 1/8 tsp Ground Cinnamon Directions

Mid-Week Menu Plan 11/13-11/19

I know, I know. It's been like.....FOREVER since I shared my meal plan with you guys. I'm so sorry. This buying a house thing has really taken a toll on me. Plus, when I was sharing them, we had gotten so incredibly busy that most nights were skipped. GAH! With the holidays just around the corner, I am setting a goal to only eat out (for dinner) 1-2 times/week. Not 6. Yeah. Now you know my little secret. I am going back to the days of making my life as easy as possible. Earlier in the year, I signed up for emeals , I haven't been the best at using them though. I know, they make it so easy! What is my problem? Well, I don't know actually. I recently changed my menu selection to the Slow Cooker menu and oh man, everything sounds SO good! Maybe that was it, the menu I had picked first just wasn't a good fit for us, thank goodness emeals makes it easy to switch plans! Be sure to check out emails, you can get 15% off using code HOLIDAY PLUS you can download

Quick Weeknight Meals with Walmart Bakery

There is nothing more that I like better than a quick meal this time of year. Let's face it, we are SUPER busy to begin with, then you add all the holiday hustle to our schedules and well, we just want to curl up in the corner and hide until January. I don't know about you but with all the extra cooking and baking going on the next two months, the last thing I want to do is cook dinner. I am so thankful the Bakery at Walmart makes it easy to get in and out of the kitchen quickly! I think French Bread Pizza was one of the very first things I EVER learned how to make. I think I was 8 or 9 when my Aunt taught me and I was head over heals in love with the concept! I mean how much easier can it get? These are a great starting point for kids to learn to cook. Just be sure to help them put them in and take them out of the oven.
