Kona Cafe - Restaurant Preview

I have read a LOT of wonderful reviews about the Kona Cafe and when I finally decided that 8 character meals while we are at Disney is just too many, I ventured out.  I needed something for the morning we will be going to Magic Kingdom, I needed the reservation early enough in the morning to still be able to make it to the park before it go too crowded and above all I needed it to have GREAT food.

Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes

Yep, that is all it took for me to make the reservation.  That and the Kona coffee that gets outstanding reviews.

The menu says these pancakes come complete with "Macadamia Nut Butter, Pineapple Sauce, and your choice of Ham, Bacon, or Sausage".  Mmmmmmm!!!

Don't worry, they do have other things that sound yummy!

Tonga Toast is their other yummy sounding dish.  What is Tonga Toast?  Well....it is... "Banana-stuffed Sourdough French Toast rolled in Cinnamon Sugar
and served with a Strawberry Compote and your choice of
Ham, Bacon, or Sausage".  Mmmm..Mmmm!

Then there are the regular offerings such as eggs, omelets, pancakes and regular french toast.  But remember, we are dining at Disney so is anything ever really "normal"?  No, is the answer to that question.

I can not wait!  Stay tuned for a complete review after our trip!

Just in case you want more details, you can see the full Breakfast Menu here.

I have also heard great things about other meals (lunch/dinner) at Kona Cafe.  Want to see the menus for the other dining options?  Here are the Lunch, Dinner and Dessert menus.  Don't forget about the kids!  Kids get their very own Breakfast and Lunch/Dinner menus!

Please remember all menus are subject to change at any given time.

FROZEN Hot Chocolate

I am sure by now, most of you know that FROZEN the Movie is coming to theaters THIS WEEK (the 27th to be exact)! I am so excited!! My girls saw some of the FROZEN merchandise while we were at Walt Disney World and that is all they could talk about.....for days! It has been a rough school year for both of the girls so far. Mads is adjusting to being in the upper elementary, was dealing with a bully and gets super frustrated with math (even though she is really good at it). MG is adjusting to actually being in school, went through a time of having accidents at school and she just misses her mommy. To celebrate Mads good grades and MG going a month accident free, I decided to treat the girls with a few fun new toys and some hot chocolate. Once I heard that FROZEN merchandise was available at Walmart, I ran to stock up. While I was there, it hit me! I could have #Frozenfun with the hot chocolate and make FROZEN Hot chocolate! I just knew the girls would love it! I was k

Le Cellier - Chedder Cheese Soup Recipe Review

I first talked about this soup here .   I have to admit, was not real eager to try this soup.  I can not stand the taste of beer.  PERIOD!  It doesn't take much in a recipe for me to be able to taste it.  With that being said, the soup wasn't bad.  I would try it with ginger ale next time though. Before I tell you what I thought of the soup I need to be fair and tell you about some changes I made to the recipe. First, the recipe tells you to cook the bacon just to render out the fats, not to make crispy.  I did not render out enough of the fats and in fact next time, I would cook the bacon until it IS crispy.  I don't like limp bacon, I like my bacon extra crispy. Second, I TOTALLY forgot to cook down the onions and celery before adding the flour!  Ummmm......ooops! So my bacon was limp and my veggies were crispy!  HAHA! Next, I am not on a budget to be able to purchase "Aged White Cheddar" so good ol Yellow Sharp Cheddar it was! I did NOT add one tablespoo

Strawberries and Cream Instant Oatmeal | Recipe

I don't know about you but, we go through oatmeal like that is the only thing to eat on this planet!   Seriously a TON! My youngest would eat it for every meal and snack....every day....if I let her. Yes, the little packs can be cheap (if you can find a coupon and get them on sale) but it still adds up.  I used things I already had on hand so there was no extra cost to make this.  FREE is ALWAYS good!   I tried before to make little packets to keep on hand but that was a complete fail.  I have since reworked the recipe and am happy with the results.  I decided to just keep the oatmeal in a glass container this time and scoop out what we need, when we need it.  You can also make this into packets by just scooping the desired amount into zip-top bags. {Strawberries & Cream Instant Oatmeal}   12 Servings 6 Cups Quick Cook Oats 1 1/2 Cups Oat Powder 2 Cups Powdered Milk 1 - 1 1/2 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Freeze Dried Strawberries Directions f
