Hello Friend - Mini WWU 12

Hi guys!  How has everyone been?  Me?  Oh, busy as usual!

Last week I had the opportunity to go to Church Camp with the kids from my church.  It was VERY last minute but VERY fun!  We ended up taking about 16 kids and 4 adults.  Everyone had a great time!  I may, or may not, have gone down the zipline.....in the dark.....ok....I DID!  It was SO much fun!!  The children's pastor from our church made a deal with me and the girls, if I went down it....she would as well.  I went down the very first night, she waited until the last.  lol

The theme this year was Consumed.  What Consumes you?  I know the message was mainly for the kids but it also spoke to me.  God has a way with timing and working things out that way.  He knew I needed to hear the message being shared.  I have let social media, my blog, my online network, consume my life.  I have let it take time away from my family, my friends and my time with God.  Since being home from camp I have put all of that on hold and have focused on God and my family more, as it should be.  I am still here, online, but not NEAR as much as I have been.

I have gone back and forth about putting my blog on hold for a bit until I get in a better routine of God, Family, life, THEN social media but, I really don't want to do that.  I have worked so hard to get to this point and don't want all of that work to go down the drain.  Plus, as Pastor Bryan said, this is a gift from God and I should use it to glorify him.  I have been praying about what my next step will be and that God's hands guide me through it, which I know they will.  So, over the next few weeks I may not post as often as I have, some weeks I may post tons.  I just need to get my priorities in order.

I will post a few pics from camp later, I took nearly 400 pics!  That is a LOT of editing!  lol  I also have a few AMAZING stories to share!  God spoke to the kids in so many ways, it was truly amazing!

What else is new......

We are in full party plan mode!  Mads 7th bday will be here before we know it!  We spent today shopping for decorations.  My feet are KILLING ME!  We spent 5 hours SHOPPING!  Normally, I would not mind this but, we were literally running from store to store, trying to get to all the stores before we had to get back home.  We landed some pretty awesome deals!  But man am I worn out.  We came home and the girls and I went to a pool party for the Girls Ministry department.  Everyone had a GREAT time.  And now I am ready to crash!  HAHA!

What else....

MG started DANCEcamp on Monday.  She is having a GREAT time.  She is the youngest in her camp but is LOVING it!  I am excited for her to start dancing full time this fall.  She is so cute in her leo with her chubby little legs.  lol

That is all....for now.

That pretty much sums up how the last week has gone.  It has been a great week!  I have more exciting news coming up in a few weeks so be sure to sign up for my newsletter so you don't miss out!

Much love,
Brandi

Strawberries and Cream Instant Oatmeal | Recipe

I don't know about you but, we go through oatmeal like that is the only thing to eat on this planet!   Seriously a TON! My youngest would eat it for every meal and snack....every day....if I let her. Yes, the little packs can be cheap (if you can find a coupon and get them on sale) but it still adds up.  I used things I already had on hand so there was no extra cost to make this.  FREE is ALWAYS good!   I tried before to make little packets to keep on hand but that was a complete fail.  I have since reworked the recipe and am happy with the results.  I decided to just keep the oatmeal in a glass container this time and scoop out what we need, when we need it.  You can also make this into packets by just scooping the desired amount into zip-top bags. {Strawberries & Cream Instant Oatmeal}   12 Servings 6 Cups Quick Cook Oats 1 1/2 Cups Oat Powder 2 Cups Powdered Milk 1 - 1 1/2 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Freeze Dried Strawberries Directions f

Granny's Flitters

I love my family!  There are so many things I love about each person and also about all of us as a whole.  One of the things I love about my family is we love traditions. Today I am going to share just one of the many traditions we have.....FLITTERS! To me when I think of comfort food, I think of Flitters.  It was a special morning to wake up to the delicious smell of flitters frying in the morning.  It is one smell that every time I smell I am brought right back to childhood and great memories. I am not really sure where the name "flitters" came from or if someone just made it up.  I can tell you how it got started though! My Great, Great Uncle Orville's mom (Grandma Cook) baked bread.  On the days she would make extra bread dough she would invite all of her grandkids over for a flitter night.  She would make her bread and then the extra dough she would roll out, cut into strips and fry up for the kids to enjoy.  That tradition was then passed to my
