Relaxing Before the Holidays with a Spa Party

Over the weekend I got a few friends together for a Spa Party. I thought it would be nice to just get together before the craziness of the holidays starts and enjoy some great food and just relax.

Before I could have a party, I needed supplies! I like getting most of my supplies at Sam's. Their prices are great and I can get everything I need in one stop. You can see my entire Sam's Club NIVEA moments trip here.

I knew I wanted to have a spa party and I knew what food I needed. While shopping I checked out the selection of Sam's Club lotion. I was surprised at the value of the NIVEA at Sam's Club! I had checked the prices at my local Walmart a few days before so I knew what to expect. It was nearly $1 cheaper to buy it at Sam's! AWESOME!

I ended up making homemade sugar scrub and bath salt and purchased some other homemade goodies from friends. I also picked up some other great NIVEA products.

For our food (because what party of mine doesn't include food), I made Spa Water, Mini Fruit Pizza's, Caprese Salad and Cucumber and Strawberry Sandwiches.

We had such a great time at the party! The girls liked the NIVEA Essentially Enriched Lotion, they felt it was light and very moisturizing. The majority did not like the scent though. But, we are a generation of heavily scented lotions.

My sweet friend Natasha was not able to attend the party. So, after it was all over I packed up a plate of food and a few sacks of goodies and took it all to her! It was a party to go! She sent me pics later of her using some of the products, she is so funny.

I don't know about you but, we go through oatmeal like that is the only thing to eat on this planet! Seriously a TON! My youngest would eat it for every meal and snack....every day....if I let her. Yes, the little packs can be cheap (if you can find a coupon and get them on sale) but it still adds up. I used things I already had on hand so there was no extra cost to make this. FREE is ALWAYS good! I tried before to make little packets to keep on hand but that was a complete fail. I have since reworked the recipe and am happy with the results. Granny's Flitters

I love my family! There are so many things I love about each person and also about all of us as a whole. One of the things I love about my family is we love traditions. Today I am going to share just one of the many traditions we have.....FLITTERS! To me when I think of comfort food, I think of Flitters. It was a special morning to wake up to the delicious smell of flitters frying in the morning. It is one smell that every time I smell I am brought right back to childhood and great memories. I am not really sure where the name "flitters" came from or if someone just made it up. I can tell you how it got started though! My Great, Great Uncle Orville's mom (Grandma Cook) baked bread.
