Family Traditions with Lipton Tea & Honey

Walmart, tradition, Family Meals
Lipton Tea has been a family favorite for years! Growing up we had sweet tea with every meal time, it seemed. Now that I have kids of my own, I try to limit their caffeine intake and only offer tea for special occasions or when we are entertaining family. I was so excited to learn that Lipton has come out with Pitcher Packets!

I will be honest, at first I was a little worried.  Have you ever tried instant tea?  It really isn't the best tasting drink on the planet. Really, to me, it tastes like dirty fish water.  Not that I have ever tasted dirty fish water.  AHEM.  While at Walmart a few days ago I picked up the Tea & Honey Mango Pineapple Iced Green Tea and the Tea & Honey Peach Apricot Iced Black Tea Pitcher Packets from Lipton. Being that I am on Weight Watchers I am always looking for new ways to cut back on calories. I was very happy to learn that each serving only has 5 calories!  That's awesome!

One of my favorite family tradition meals is roast. It is my favorite meal to make when I need comfort food, the food pairings of the roast, carrots, potatoes, onions and celery is just perfect.  It takes me straight back to my childhood!  This time, I decided instead of having regular sweet tea with our roast, I would make one of the to go tea sticks.

It was so much easier to pour the mix into a pitcher, add water and stir, than to boil water, add sugar, add water, add the tea once it was done and stir. I was worried about the flavor, I don't particularly care for honey in my drinks and well, we know how I feel about instant tea.  But, it was really, REALLY good! I can't taste the honey at all, I really only tasted the mango and pineapple.

One other thing I like about the Lipton Tea & Honey packets is that the Tea & Honey is made from real tea leaves and contains 60mg of tea flavonoids per serving!  That's great! Tea & health go hand in hand for me since I drink so much of it, now I feel better about switching to the Tea & Honey packets!

The best part?  The girls LOVED them as well!  Since the packets I purchased do have caffeine in them, even though it is a natural caffeine, I will still restrict them for the girls.  But mama will be on no tea restrictions!

Not only are these great for family meal time, you can toss them in your purse to use while on a picnic, while you are camping or any time you want #FamilyTeaTime!

FROZEN Hot Chocolate

I am sure by now, most of you know that FROZEN the Movie is coming to theaters THIS WEEK (the 27th to be exact)! I am so excited!! My girls saw some of the FROZEN merchandise while we were at Walt Disney World and that is all they could talk about.....for days! It has been a rough school year for both of the girls so far. Mads is adjusting to being in the upper elementary, was dealing with a bully and gets super frustrated with math (even though she is really good at it). MG is adjusting to actually being in school, went through a time of having accidents at school and she just misses her mommy. To celebrate Mads good grades and MG going a month accident free, I decided to treat the girls with a few fun new toys and some hot chocolate. Once I heard that FROZEN merchandise was available at Walmart, I ran to stock up. While I was there, it hit me! I could have #Frozenfun with the hot chocolate and make FROZEN Hot chocolate! I just knew the girls would love it! I was k

Le Cellier - Chedder Cheese Soup Recipe Review

I first talked about this soup here .   I have to admit, was not real eager to try this soup.  I can not stand the taste of beer.  PERIOD!  It doesn't take much in a recipe for me to be able to taste it.  With that being said, the soup wasn't bad.  I would try it with ginger ale next time though. Before I tell you what I thought of the soup I need to be fair and tell you about some changes I made to the recipe. First, the recipe tells you to cook the bacon just to render out the fats, not to make crispy.  I did not render out enough of the fats and in fact next time, I would cook the bacon until it IS crispy.  I don't like limp bacon, I like my bacon extra crispy. Second, I TOTALLY forgot to cook down the onions and celery before adding the flour!  Ummmm......ooops! So my bacon was limp and my veggies were crispy!  HAHA! Next, I am not on a budget to be able to purchase "Aged White Cheddar" so good ol Yellow Sharp Cheddar it was! I did NOT add one tablespoo

Strawberries and Cream Instant Oatmeal | Recipe

I don't know about you but, we go through oatmeal like that is the only thing to eat on this planet!   Seriously a TON! My youngest would eat it for every meal and snack....every day....if I let her. Yes, the little packs can be cheap (if you can find a coupon and get them on sale) but it still adds up.  I used things I already had on hand so there was no extra cost to make this.  FREE is ALWAYS good!   I tried before to make little packets to keep on hand but that was a complete fail.  I have since reworked the recipe and am happy with the results.  I decided to just keep the oatmeal in a glass container this time and scoop out what we need, when we need it.  You can also make this into packets by just scooping the desired amount into zip-top bags. {Strawberries & Cream Instant Oatmeal}   12 Servings 6 Cups Quick Cook Oats 1 1/2 Cups Oat Powder 2 Cups Powdered Milk 1 - 1 1/2 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Freeze Dried Strawberries Directions f
