Cowboy Tacos #MealsTogether

Tyson Chicken, Fun Recipes, Family Meals, #MealsTogether
Last week I heard that Tyson Chicken came out with a new product that I just had to try! I knew I could create some fun recipes with their new Honey BBQ Chicken Strips and could not wait to get started! We try to have fun family meals a few times a week. My girls love to help in the kitchen and this recipe allows them to do just that. Allowing your kids to help in the kitchen not only teaches them how to cook but also opens them up to try new flavors.

These tacos are SUPER easy to make and take just minutes, which is great for busy nights! Cooking the strips is the longest part of the recipe, but you need that time to get everything else ready.

While the strips were heating I prepared my Cowboy Caviar, which I used to top the tacos. It is very easy to prepare and takes the tacos up a notch while highlighting the Honey BBQ flavor of the strips.

Cowboy Tacos
8-10 Tyson Honey BBQ Chicken Strips (1-2 strips per taco)
8 Corn Tortillas

Heat strips according to package directions.
While strips are heating, prepare the caviar.
Allow strips to cool just a bit then shred or cut into small pieces.
Warm tortillas in microwave for about 15 seconds between damp paper towels.
Place 2-3 Tbs shredded chicken and place in middle on a tortilla, then top with caviar.

These were GREAT and I will definitely be adding them to our menu rotation! I felt the flavors were great together and the strips were a great flavor. Hubby thought they needed a bit more sauce but liked the flavor. The girls were not big on the tacos but liked the Tyson Honey BBQ Strips on their own. Whether you use these strips in a FUN new recipe, or on their own, I think you will really like them.

Be sure to look for great demos at your local Walmart for this yummy product!

FROZEN Hot Chocolate

I am sure by now, most of you know that FROZEN the Movie is coming to theaters THIS WEEK (the 27th to be exact)! I am so excited!! My girls saw some of the FROZEN merchandise while we were at Walt Disney World and that is all they could talk about.....for days! It has been a rough school year for both of the girls so far. Mads is adjusting to being in the upper elementary, was dealing with a bully and gets super frustrated with math (even though she is really good at it). MG is adjusting to actually being in school, went through a time of having accidents at school and she just misses her mommy. To celebrate Mads good grades and MG going a month accident free, I decided to treat the girls with a few fun new toys and some hot chocolate. Once I heard that FROZEN merchandise was available at Walmart, I ran to stock up. While I was there, it hit me! I could have #Frozenfun with the hot chocolate and make FROZEN Hot chocolate! I just knew the girls would love it! I was k

Le Cellier - Chedder Cheese Soup Recipe Review

I first talked about this soup here .   I have to admit, was not real eager to try this soup.  I can not stand the taste of beer.  PERIOD!  It doesn't take much in a recipe for me to be able to taste it.  With that being said, the soup wasn't bad.  I would try it with ginger ale next time though. Before I tell you what I thought of the soup I need to be fair and tell you about some changes I made to the recipe. First, the recipe tells you to cook the bacon just to render out the fats, not to make crispy.  I did not render out enough of the fats and in fact next time, I would cook the bacon until it IS crispy.  I don't like limp bacon, I like my bacon extra crispy. Second, I TOTALLY forgot to cook down the onions and celery before adding the flour!  Ummmm......ooops! So my bacon was limp and my veggies were crispy!  HAHA! Next, I am not on a budget to be able to purchase "Aged White Cheddar" so good ol Yellow Sharp Cheddar it was! I did NOT add one tablespoo

Strawberries and Cream Instant Oatmeal | Recipe

I don't know about you but, we go through oatmeal like that is the only thing to eat on this planet!   Seriously a TON! My youngest would eat it for every meal and snack....every day....if I let her. Yes, the little packs can be cheap (if you can find a coupon and get them on sale) but it still adds up.  I used things I already had on hand so there was no extra cost to make this.  FREE is ALWAYS good!   I tried before to make little packets to keep on hand but that was a complete fail.  I have since reworked the recipe and am happy with the results.  I decided to just keep the oatmeal in a glass container this time and scoop out what we need, when we need it.  You can also make this into packets by just scooping the desired amount into zip-top bags. {Strawberries & Cream Instant Oatmeal}   12 Servings 6 Cups Quick Cook Oats 1 1/2 Cups Oat Powder 2 Cups Powdered Milk 1 - 1 1/2 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Freeze Dried Strawberries Directions f
