Dining at Disney - Special Diets

Going to Disney?  Staying on property or having dinner on property?  Have a food allergy or special diet?  Freaking out wondering what you are going to eat?

Not to worry!  This IS Disney after all and they DO think of everything and everyone!

If you are diabetic they have a ton of things for you and you will not have to worry about a thing!  If you see an option and have a question about it just ask your cast member serving you, they will be able to answer any question you may have.

Maybe you have to follow a gluten free (GF) diet.  NOT a problem!!  Did you know that many restaurants at Disney have already made arrangements to make sure no gluten will come near your food?  They have!  Most restaurants have special fryers, grills, refrigerators, etc to prepare and store the GF food in.  When you sit down for your meal remind (yes remind, you are given the option to put special dietary needs in your reservations*) your cast member of your GF needs.  He will then go tell the chef, the chef will come out and go over the menu with you.  Don't see anything appealing?  Not to worry!  The chef can whip something up just for you.  Once he is done talking to you about your needs/wants he will return to his kitchen, pick one member of his staff to prepare your meal just for you.  How awesome is that?!?!
With food allergies on the rise Disney has taken great care of those concerns ahead of time and really thought things through.  Like a GF diet, you do have many options if you have a food allergy as well.  Follow the steps above that I mention about GF for any food allergy.
You can see most of the menus here to start planning what you will eat before you step foot on property.  Another great place to find lots of info is Disney's site itself.  You can fin all of that info here.
OH!  Did I mention BabyCakes NYC Bakery in DTD?  Not only are they a GF bakery they are also a Vegan bakery!!  I hear their goodies are mighty tasty.

*You are asked to give at least a 14 day notice of any special dietary needs.  If you are making an Advance Dining Reservation there is a place to list any concerns/allergies.  I would also call (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 14 days prior to your arrival just to make sure they have all of your info.

FROZEN Hot Chocolate

I am sure by now, most of you know that FROZEN the Movie is coming to theaters THIS WEEK (the 27th to be exact)! I am so excited!! My girls saw some of the FROZEN merchandise while we were at Walt Disney World and that is all they could talk about.....for days! It has been a rough school year for both of the girls so far. Mads is adjusting to being in the upper elementary, was dealing with a bully and gets super frustrated with math (even though she is really good at it). MG is adjusting to actually being in school, went through a time of having accidents at school and she just misses her mommy. To celebrate Mads good grades and MG going a month accident free, I decided to treat the girls with a few fun new toys and some hot chocolate. Once I heard that FROZEN merchandise was available at Walmart, I ran to stock up. While I was there, it hit me! I could have #Frozenfun with the hot chocolate and make FROZEN Hot chocolate! I just knew the girls would love it! I was k

Le Cellier - Chedder Cheese Soup Recipe Review

I first talked about this soup here .   I have to admit, was not real eager to try this soup.  I can not stand the taste of beer.  PERIOD!  It doesn't take much in a recipe for me to be able to taste it.  With that being said, the soup wasn't bad.  I would try it with ginger ale next time though. Before I tell you what I thought of the soup I need to be fair and tell you about some changes I made to the recipe. First, the recipe tells you to cook the bacon just to render out the fats, not to make crispy.  I did not render out enough of the fats and in fact next time, I would cook the bacon until it IS crispy.  I don't like limp bacon, I like my bacon extra crispy. Second, I TOTALLY forgot to cook down the onions and celery before adding the flour!  Ummmm......ooops! So my bacon was limp and my veggies were crispy!  HAHA! Next, I am not on a budget to be able to purchase "Aged White Cheddar" so good ol Yellow Sharp Cheddar it was! I did NOT add one tablespoo

Strawberries and Cream Instant Oatmeal | Recipe

I don't know about you but, we go through oatmeal like that is the only thing to eat on this planet!   Seriously a TON! My youngest would eat it for every meal and snack....every day....if I let her. Yes, the little packs can be cheap (if you can find a coupon and get them on sale) but it still adds up.  I used things I already had on hand so there was no extra cost to make this.  FREE is ALWAYS good!   I tried before to make little packets to keep on hand but that was a complete fail.  I have since reworked the recipe and am happy with the results.  I decided to just keep the oatmeal in a glass container this time and scoop out what we need, when we need it.  You can also make this into packets by just scooping the desired amount into zip-top bags. {Strawberries & Cream Instant Oatmeal}   12 Servings 6 Cups Quick Cook Oats 1 1/2 Cups Oat Powder 2 Cups Powdered Milk 1 - 1 1/2 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Freeze Dried Strawberries Directions f
