Christmas with Cookie's Kids

#CookiesKids, #Cbias
Christmas is just around the corner!
One of my favorite Christmas traditions is shopping for a Christmas dress. I started my search for the perfect dress for MG a few weeks ago on CookiesKids.com.

Their selection of dresses is AMAZING! They have tons of different styles, fits and colors. I had a hard time deciding on THE dress, it was a toss up between the one I choose and another that I decided just was not for us.  Oh, the other one was cute, it just had stuff around the neck and MG can be pretty picky about stuff like that.

I ended up getting this dress by Dorissa and am so glad I did!  The color is just beautiful! The ruffles near the neck and the bows on the sash are made of velvet, the rest of the dress is like a taffeta.

#CookiesKids has an AWESOME new feature that allows you to put your child's height and weight in and they will pull up what size would work best for your child.  Unfortunately, MG is kind of hard to fit so they could not come up with a size for her.  Cookie's Kids does have regular size charts, which is what I ended up using.

One of the reasons I turn to CookiesKids.com when I am shopping for timeless pieces is because I believe in their story. They are a family owned company that was founded by brothers. In 1972 a young man named Cookie and his brother Marvin went into business together. They rented a 1600 square foot store in Jamaica, Queens and fixed it up, bought inventory and opened a day after Thanksgiving with a full stock of holiday toys.

The toys were a success and they put the extra money toward buying children's clothing for next season. When that did well, they bought more clothing. The business was on it's way. A third bother joined Marvin and Cookie and by the late 1990's, they had 6 superstores throughout New York. CookiesKids.com was rolled out in 2007.

Today Cookie's has 7 stores in the New York City area, as well as online!

Isn't that cool? I LOVE stories like this and it makes me want to shop with them every chance I get! I hope you will consider them next time you are looking for kids clothes. Oh! I also have something just for YOU! You guys know I LOVE coupons, so how about a coupon code?

FROZEN Hot Chocolate

I am sure by now, most of you know that FROZEN the Movie is coming to theaters THIS WEEK (the 27th to be exact)! I am so excited!! My girls saw some of the FROZEN merchandise while we were at Walt Disney World and that is all they could talk about.....for days! It has been a rough school year for both of the girls so far. Mads is adjusting to being in the upper elementary, was dealing with a bully and gets super frustrated with math (even though she is really good at it). MG is adjusting to actually being in school, went through a time of having accidents at school and she just misses her mommy. To celebrate Mads good grades and MG going a month accident free, I decided to treat the girls with a few fun new toys and some hot chocolate. Once I heard that FROZEN merchandise was available at Walmart, I ran to stock up. While I was there, it hit me! I could have #Frozenfun with the hot chocolate and make FROZEN Hot chocolate! I just knew the girls would love it! I was k

Le Cellier - Chedder Cheese Soup Recipe Review

I first talked about this soup here .   I have to admit, was not real eager to try this soup.  I can not stand the taste of beer.  PERIOD!  It doesn't take much in a recipe for me to be able to taste it.  With that being said, the soup wasn't bad.  I would try it with ginger ale next time though. Before I tell you what I thought of the soup I need to be fair and tell you about some changes I made to the recipe. First, the recipe tells you to cook the bacon just to render out the fats, not to make crispy.  I did not render out enough of the fats and in fact next time, I would cook the bacon until it IS crispy.  I don't like limp bacon, I like my bacon extra crispy. Second, I TOTALLY forgot to cook down the onions and celery before adding the flour!  Ummmm......ooops! So my bacon was limp and my veggies were crispy!  HAHA! Next, I am not on a budget to be able to purchase "Aged White Cheddar" so good ol Yellow Sharp Cheddar it was! I did NOT add one tablespoo

Strawberries and Cream Instant Oatmeal | Recipe

I don't know about you but, we go through oatmeal like that is the only thing to eat on this planet!   Seriously a TON! My youngest would eat it for every meal and snack....every day....if I let her. Yes, the little packs can be cheap (if you can find a coupon and get them on sale) but it still adds up.  I used things I already had on hand so there was no extra cost to make this.  FREE is ALWAYS good!   I tried before to make little packets to keep on hand but that was a complete fail.  I have since reworked the recipe and am happy with the results.  I decided to just keep the oatmeal in a glass container this time and scoop out what we need, when we need it.  You can also make this into packets by just scooping the desired amount into zip-top bags. {Strawberries & Cream Instant Oatmeal}   12 Servings 6 Cups Quick Cook Oats 1 1/2 Cups Oat Powder 2 Cups Powdered Milk 1 - 1 1/2 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Freeze Dried Strawberries Directions f
