25 Days of a Crafty Christmas Day 12

Hooded Towel You will need: Bath Towel Hand Towel (NOT wash rag) Scissors Pins Sewing Machine Directions: 1.  Fold your hand towel in half with the two "decorative" edges together and cut on the fold. You will then fold the half in half (again, your decorated edges should be touching), find the center and mark with a pin.  Also, fold your bath towel in half (decorative edges touching) to find the center, and mark with a pin. 2. Line up both towels together with “right” sides (the side you want on the OUTISIDE once finished) together.  This is why you placed a pin in each towel in step one, so you could easily find the center.  Just line both pins up.  Pin towels together, you will want the bath towel to stick out a bit further than the hand towel.  Sew approximately 1/4" from the edge of the hand towel. 3. Turn over towel straighten the bath towel edge OVER the hand towel edge covering the raw...

Mod Podge Ornament These are SO cute and SO easy to make. They are VERY messy though. What you will need: Ornament of choice Paper or Fabric Mod Podge Sponge Paintbrush Ribbon (optional) Directions Tear/cut/rip paper/fabric "Paint" a bit of Mod Podge on Ornament* Place fabric/paper randomly on Ornament "Paint" more   Mod Podge over fabric/paper to help seal Allow to dry Decorate with ribbon *My notes: I started off using paper but did NOT like how it was turning out at all so I switched to fabric. Also, I think it would have been better if I wouldn't have painted the MP on the ornament but rather dipped the fabric in it and then placed it on.  But, in the end it still turned out how I wanted it to.

25 Days of a Crafty Christmas Day 9

Pie-in-a-Jar This is such an easy and YUMMY gift to make!  Plus, who doesn’t like pie?  Well, except my husband of course. You will need glass jars (canning/mason), pie crust, pie filling of your choice. You will be cooking IN the jars so you will need to sanitize them first, just boil them for a bit and you are good to go. Directions: 1) Grease/butter jars and set aside.  I used butter but had a hard time getting it in the very bottom. 2) Roll out dough .  I used premade dough and rolled it just a little bit thinner. 3) Use jar lid and cut a circle out of dough.   Once cut place in bottom of jar. 4) Cut remainder of dough in strips and place in jars (see pic) 5) Add pie filling .  Only fill about 2/3-3/4 full, you will need room for crust to expand, this will make the filling rise. 6) Crimp crust around top.   Just like a regular pie you will want to roll down and crimp the edges of your “pie”.  This is also w...
