Top 10 Frugal Teachers Gifts

It's that time of year, school will be out soon.  For me and my family we are on a TIGHT budget right now.  We have graduations, birthday's, Mother's Day, Recitals, the list goes on and on for what we are dishing out for this month.  We tend to be frugal when it comes to gifts because we have SO many people to get gifts for. Mads teacher this year is AWESOME, she had her in 4K also so we have known her for a while now.  She can be hard to buy for though, can't all teachers though?  I mean, if it has an apple on...I am sure that have it...or 10...already.  I have scoured the net (ok, so I scoured Pinterest ) and found some GREAT teacher gifts that are super frugal! 1) Quench My Thirst Tumblers !  Lisa, over at Lisa Storms , created a CUTE little printable tag that you place on the straw of a tumbler.  Add some drink packs and you are set!  You can do this for under $5.  2) Covered Clipboard - I use clipboards all the time a...

Pinot's Palette

Last week Money Saving Queen hosted an event for all of her staff, volunteers and other helpers.  The event was at this { AWESOME } place called Pinot's Palette . It is a { REALLY } cool place that you get to go paint at!  Seriously, I was a bit skeptical at first.  I mean, I know I am creative and all (hello, I AM The Creative Princess)....{ BUT }, my actual artistic skills are lacking { BIG TIME }!  Crafty, I can do....artsy.....not so much.  Luckily, they have an { AWESOME } instructor (who actually reminded some of us of Angelina Jolie) who stands at the front of the room and tells you { EXACTLY } what to do!  They also have helpers that come around and give you even more help.  It is like paint by numbers but without the numbers, super simple. You start off with a blank canvas and the instructor tells you the next few steps.  We had to make a white circle then fade out to blue.  As  you can see, I don't fade out well. ...

Weekend Wrap-up 6

I absolutely LOVE this picture!  Daddy and his girls, it's just precious! Mads did not have school on Friday so we decided to take the girls to one of our state parks {Little Blue} by the lake and have a weenie roast.  We LOVE doing this, it is like camping but we come home instead.  HA!  We usually stay for a few hours but this time hubby had to be at work later in the evening so we did not stay as long. I am sorry for all the funky lines in this, it is hard to get a panoramic of moving water! All of the spillways are fully open and flowing FAST!  We have had a lot of rain just to the north so to help prevent flooding they open the spillways.  It is just beautiful! Hubs got the fire going as the girls and I got everything else set up.  MG helped gather some sticks, Mads was freaked by the bugs.  lol After just a few minutes it was time to get cookin'!  I LOVE weenie roasts!  There really is no better food this tim...

Cute Cupcake Liner Storage with Elmer's Painters Paint Markers

While cleaning out my pantry......again.....last week I decided I needed something super cute to keep my super cute cupcake wrappers in.  While reorganizing I emptied out some cute glass canisters that would be PERFECT to keep my liners in.  But I didn't want just plain jars, that's no fun.  So......off to Walmart I went. I came across these Elmer's Painters Paint Markers and knew EXACTLY what I was going to do.  I picked up a white with a "fine" point {it really isn't that fine of a tip but it got the job done}, I also picked up a set of pastels.  I love that I can get individual markers, I also love that they are only $1.97! I love these markers and have used them before on a few other projects so I knew they would be great for what I had in mind. I used the canister I already had and some stencils I recently purchased.  When working with glass make sure your stencils are a peel and stick or the paint will bleed.  Also make sure to ...

Recipe Review - Banana Nut Bread

Mmmmmm.....warm Bannana Nut Bread!  Is there anything better? Well, for me it would be to take the nuts out! Yes, I like my Banana Nut Bread, nut free! A few weeks ago I ran across this recipe, from Nags over at Edible Garden , on Pinterest .  It was love at first site!  Instead of the traditional pecans, she used macadamia nuts!  HELLO!  She also used hazelnuts but I forgot about those once I saw macadamia nuts.  Since I had a few overly ripe bananas just lying around I decided to whip this up. You will need: Eggs Vanilla 1 Banana (yes, just one!) Butter Flour Sugar That's it!  Oh, and nuts for those of you that prefer nuts in your Banana Nut Bread.  Super simple! I started by mashing my banana and setting it aside. Then you will cream your sugar and butter together Add your eggs and incorporate well Once your eggs have been incorporate turn your mixer to low/stir and add your bananas and vanilla ...

P&G Everyday Solutions offers multiple ways to save! #cbias

Have you seen the P&G Everyday Solutions site?  If you have been a P&G fan for a while, you may already be familiar with this site.  P&G offers THREE great ways to save!  You have been able to find the P&G brandSAVER in your local newspaper about once a month for a while.  P&G also introduced us to AWESOME coupons that are mailed to your home (along with product samples) a few months ago.  You can also download coupons straight to your store shoppers card! How awesome is that?!  I do not have a store near me that offers this feature but for those of you that do, you really need to check it out!  It is super easy and the site walks you through the process.  All you do is select the coupons you want to download to your shoppers card.  When the cashier scans your card at checkout the coupons are automatically deducted.  Super easy! On the way home from Dallas Sunday I picked up a few Sunday papers....
