I was on the news!!!


Did you see my post last week or my post on Facebook about being interviewed by Lindsey Henry with Joplin's Fox 14?  If you missed it, don't worry!

It was a lot of fun, and a little nerve-wracking. I have been interviewed about couponing before, but never for TV news and never IN MY HOME! 

Lindsey set me at ease by telling me how warm and inviting she thought my house was, then she sat back on the couch and asked a few questions. It was so much fun and after a few minutes it was like talking with a friend. 

I made one flub when I said Texlas, or was it Telxas, instead of Texas.  HAHA! That is so much better than what I feared I would do. I am so thankful my friend Sarah sent my name to Lindsey's producer!

Granny's Flitters

I love my family!  There are so many things I love about each person and also about all of us as a whole.  One of the things I love about my family is we love traditions. Today I am going to share just one of the many traditions we have.....FLITTERS! To me when I think of comfort food, I think of Flitters.  It was a special morning to wake up to the delicious smell of flitters frying in the morning.  It is one smell that every time I smell I am brought right back to childhood and great memories. I am not really sure where the name "flitters" came from or if someone just made it up.  I can tell you how it got started though! My Great, Great Uncle Orville's mom (Grandma Cook) baked bread.  On the days she would make extra bread dough she would invite all of her grandkids over for a flitter night.  She would make her bread and then the extra dough she would roll out, cut into strips and fry up for the kids to enjoy.  That tradition was then passed to my
