FREE Concerts!!

A few weeks ago I go I heard about a concert/conference that was coming to my area and decided I wanted to go.  The event was for moms and daughters, PERFECT!  However!  It was geared toward girls from about 8-12.  Not so perfect.  I still wanted to go but didn't want to be that weird mom there without her daughter.  What to do, what to do.  Plus, I really didn't want to have to pay to go.  Yeah, go ahead, you can call me cheap.  Won't be the first time I have heard that one. About the time I heard the commercial for the event I also heard a commercial telling me that I could sign up with my FAV local radio station and volunteer at some of their events.  FUN!  The best part?  By volunteering I would be able to go to their events and get in for FREE!  HELLO! I am sure by now you know where I am going with this. A few days before the event a mass email went out to all that have signed up to volunteer asking for more pe...

New Direction....

You know how sometimes you make a decision and it may not have been the best decision for you.  Or maybe it was the best decision for you at the time but now it is time to move forward? Well, that is where I am at now. A few short months ago I decided to open my Etsy store up again.  At the time, I thought that was going to be a great idea.  Well, I was wrong.  I still like to sew and I still like to make bows, but just not as much as I once did.  Plus, finding the time to actually sit down and sew or make bows is nearly impossible right now.  But my biggest reason for cutting my losses and just moving on is that my heart is just not in it anymore. If you are a close friend or family member of mine, or if a close friend or family member directs you to me, I will of course be MORE than happy to make a bow, or 10, or sew a quick something or other for you. I am going to keep The Creative Princess blog up and running.  As well as my F...

MPM on Friday Part 2

I did one other MPM project this week and wanted to so badly to space them out but I just can't!  I LOVE this project and they turned out so stinking CUTE so I am just going to post it now. I got these magazine holders a few years ago at IKEA.  LOVE IKEA!  I have like 8 of them.  They have been sitting on the shelf in my hall for, well since at least 2004 because that was the date on one of the magazine's.  Oh my! Now don't get me wrong, I do love these holders and I do think they are cute but really, they are serving no purpose right now.  I can not tell you the last time I looked at the magazines in them, probably the day I put them in the holder.  Eeek! I have decided to declutter my life and I am starting with my house.  I don't need any of the magazines in the holders so why am I holding on to them?  My daughter does, however, have a TON of books.  Seriously!  This child has so many books it is scary.  I think we ...

Mod Podge Monday......err I mean Friday

Sooo I am a little late this week, or we could say I am just super early for next week!  Yeah, that sounds better!  :)  As some of you know I am totally in LOVE with Mod Podge right now.  I mean seriously!  I was covered in the stuff a few days ago.  I may just go crazy and Mod Podge my entire house!  Well, let's get to it!  I saw this  tutorial, showing how to make CUUUUTE picture frames, on The Shabby Chic Cottage  one of my FAVORITE idea blogs.  She is totally awesome!  Anywho, it was August and I had a few birthday gifts that needed to be bought with NO money!  Alas!  I remembered this tutorial and got started! I needed to make 3 frames, and as most things go you just learn a few of your own tips as you go.  In the tutorial she mentions wetting the paper first before placing it on the frame.  She also cautions about making sure it is a quick dip in water and not a soak.  So I go ...

Man! This is just NOT my week!

So to say I am a hoarder is really a far stretch!  You can say I have a love of fabric, you can say I am thrifty, you can even go as far to call me cheap.  *gasp*  But a hoarder....no!  I do like to keep a few things around "just in case".  Let's take boxes for example.  A few years ago I ordered a boat load of flat rate and media mail boxes from the USPS.  I went to mail some packages last week and this morning I discovered my flat rate and media mail boxes are in fact, no longer flat rate or media mail boxes!  Lovely! Even better?  Since I did all the postage online it can take up to 21 days for it to be returned!  Lovely. How about even better?  When I was making my labels via paypal my paypal account somehow got charged twice!  Lovely! Oh even better than THAT?  Because my paypal account was charged twice and I had just enough to cover the first set of labels it took the money out of my bank account. Yep, you...
